President’s Important Announcements

Dear VHIMA Members:

I wanted to make some important announcements on behalf of the VHIMA Board. First, thank you to the members that voted in the recent election for our President-Elect. Please congratulate Arnita Brooks, our new President-Elect for 2022-2023. I’m excited to have her on the board as I know she brings an abundance of knowledge and experience.

Last week we did receive a resignation letter from Sonya Lamberson, our Vice President of Media and Communications for 2022-2024. She had to resign from the position due to her Mother’s failing health and increased responsibilities at work. She felt at this time she was not able to give the proper attention to her position. The Board and I have chosen a new Vice President of Media and Communications for the term of 2022-2024. Please welcome Rael McDonald to the VHIMA Board. The Board and I look forward to hearing your suggestions and ideas on how we can make VHIMA better!

Our VHIMA Strategic Planning Meeting will be on September 24th. If you have any feedback, suggestions, or concerns that you would like to bring up please feel free to reach out to me at President@vhima.org. The Board and I are looking forward to a great year. Some of our top priorities for the year are mentorship, volunteerism, and advocating for our HIM profession.
